We hope that our in house dining will be one of the highlights of your stay at Woolamai Beach House.

Our staff stand by to prepare and serve breakfasts of tropical fruit, juices and jams, light or long lunches and lavish seafood dinners from our menu of simple, delicious dishes inspired by Sri Lankan cuisine and the region’s abundant seafood and tropical produce. Please view our current menu - additional or alterntive dishes may also be ordered upon request and paid for  on a cost of ingredient basis.

Or negotiate directly with the local fishermen for their daily catch - lobster, octopus, prawns and butterfish are all regularly caught in the waters directly in front of the house and guests are welcome to self cater in our beautiful open kitchen.

Thalpe is home to a number of excellent dining options.

Wijaya Beach Bar

Best beach bar ever serving excellent wood fired pizzas and overooking a beach lagoon perfect for swimming.

Why Beach

First rate Italian restaurant in a lovely beachside location.

Frangipani Tree

Beautifully designed boutique hotel, great example of modern Sri Lankan architecture.

Era Beach

Another stunning boutique hotel with a beautiful pool and quiet ambience.

Lunch under the verandah of this plantation estate then lounge by their beautiful pool spectacularly set in deep jungle.

For a change of scenery, Unawatuna is a crescent shaped swimming beach dotted with seafood restaurants. Kingfisher restaurant offers toes in the sand dining on freshly grilled seafood.

Galle Fort

Galle Fort offers basically everything from great coffee shops to locally run rice and curry joints and silver service dining. Our favorite though is the Fort Printers.
